Other information The Alpine A 110 is shown here in its very first version, with air intakes at the top of the front fenders. It represented a quantum leap in quality for the Dieppe-based manufacturer. Hitherto a manufacturer of road-going rally cars, it tackled the GT grand tourer by carrying over the mechanics and running gear of its all-conquering A 110 1600S.
If, at the time, the car's performance - just over 200km/h and less than 30 seconds to cover 1000m - left us a little hungry for more, it's more than enough today. Its near-magical handling, its supercar-like driving position, its very high level of roadholding and comfort, the noise and pleasure of its engine, the perfectly controlled aerodynamic noises, all contribute to deliver sensations that remind me of my A310 every time I climb into my new A110.
The Alpine A 310, like the SM, left its mark on my early years - I've owned four of them, including two V6s... and there's no photo... This car is in good original condition, with a credible low mileage, but its mechanics are as good as new...
