The Citroën SM is a marmite car, you either love it or hate it. For me it is one of the best cars of its generation, an all-time great. The brainchild of incredible engineering but troubled management, it was born with some of the best Italian engineering but suffered crippling teething issues. Things such as a weak timing chain or valves that were prone to failure now belong to the past. It still needs to be perfectly tuned by expert hands but boy does it deliver when it is... This is obviously the case with mine, which was completely rebuilt a few years ago and which I have been patiently fine-tuning. The Franco-Italian Concorde if there had ever been one!
