Other information The D.B. Le Mans was the last of the brand's cars to bear the name of the two partners Deutch and Bonnet. The two parted ways shortly afterwards. It was based on the Panhard PL17's excellent platform, inheriting its unusual width for the time, as well as its remarkable stability, comfort and roadholding.
The brilliant Tigre mill gave it astonishing performance, shuffling the featherweight (650kg) at unsuspected pace and in an unmistakle and race-car like din. The spirit of the 24 hours of Le Mans prototypes right on the road ... a car that truly lives up to its name.
The DB Le Mans is an astonishing car to drive. Its engine is incredibly willing for such a small displacement and the drivetrain is mind-boggling. You can flick it into corners and it will just keep turning, bending the corner to its will in total absence of any form of under-steer. You start to wonder if she really is front-wheel drive. This car really needs to be experienced!
For the discerning enthusiast!
My car was fully restored by a leading marque specialist ten years ago and the engine rebuilt in 2023.
