History
Pierre-Henry Mahul bought Ziza (Ex TRICERATOPS) from Didier Tournade in June 2015. The boat, which had always been used as a family cruiser in the Pertuis Rochelais and Southern Brittany, had been laid up ashore for three seasons.
In August 2015 ZiZA was re-cocked and sailed for 15 days in the hands of PH Mahul the new owner in order to validate the technical choices for the long-distance solo sailing program In collaboration with D. Tournade and G. Montaubin, P.H. Mahul undertook a complete refit of ZiZA from September 2015 to September 2016. It's worth noting that each of the three friends can boast over 50 years' sailing and/or shipbuilding experience...
Sailing
In November 2016 ZIZA sets sail from La Rochelle with PH Mahul alone on board. After 8 days at sea Stopover in Funchal (Madeira). Then 9 days at sea and a stopover in Mindelo (Rep. of Cape Verde) before reaching the Caribbean in 12 days in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) where ZiZA is wintered ashore. Nearly 6,000 nm of beautiful sailing over 29 days at sea with a total fuel consumption of 20 liters! Ziza has demonstrated all the potential for speed, safety and comfort at sea that a remarkably well-designed 10 m trimaran can offer.
